How to apply (International undergraduates)
- Choose your course and check the exact entry requirements on its page.
- Apply via UCAS. Strict deadline: 15 October, 6pm UK time.
- Register & book any admissions test(s). Most Oxford tests run at Pearson VUE centres in the last week of October. Medicine uses UCAT taken in summer–September.
- Submit written work if your course asks for it; then shortlisted candidates are interviewed in December.
- English proof. Offers normally include a high English level; you submit your test result by 31 July if required.
Always check your specific course page — required subjects, tests and written work vary by course.
English-language requirements
Oxford undergrad courses require the Higher English level (typical examples): IELTS 7.5 overall, min 7.0 in each part; or TOEFL iBT 110 with specified minimums; Cambridge C1/C2 at high scores; PTE 76 (with section minimums). Some applicants may be eligible for a waiver (e.g. certain English-medium schooling routes). Check the official ELR page for full details.
Faculties & programs
Divisions: Humanities • Social Sciences • Mathematical, Physical & Life Sciences (MPLS) • Medical Sciences. Departments range from Classics and Law to Computer Science, Engineering Science, Physics, Biology and more.
Tuition fees (Undergraduate — Overseas)
For 2026/27, overseas undergraduate fees are £37,380 – £62,820 per year depending on the course. Clinical Medicine years are significantly higher — see the Medicine page for details. Use the official search tool or course page for the exact fee for your subject.
You will also need to budget for living costs (see below).
Scholarships & funding
- Oxford fees, funding & scholarship search (central tool for UG/Grad).
- Oxford bursaries & scholarships (2026-entry) — mainly for UK/ROI students (e.g. Crankstart Scholarship).
- College & departmental awards — check your college/department.
- External scholarships — national/international providers.
Accommodation (college & private)
Undergraduates: all first-year students are offered/guaranteed college accommodation, either on the main site or in a nearby annexe. Many colleges offer at least one further year in college; some guarantee more years. Graduates: provision varies by college; some can guarantee a place in the first year, others provide for a proportion of graduates.
If you choose to live in private housing, typical contracts cover the full calendar year (not only term time), so total annual cost is usually higher than living only in college during term.
